Plans are underway for the 1st 2026 Walk 4 Freedom
ZHRO Walking for Freedom starting in Blackburn, at Witton Park, where we had a glorious time last year on the 5th April 2025 (SEE FLICKR Album HERE)
The walk is scheduled for 28 March at 9:30 am assembly time and 10:00 am starting time.
The finishing time will be announced in due course after consultation and agreement to the total number of hours for the walk. The MAP Route LINK is HERE based on Last Year's Experience! Please CLICK on the MAP IMAGE to enlarge
Please note that the walk is self-sponsored. Melody Phyllis Magejo will redesign & print the flyer for publicity. Let's all work in unison inviting others for the good cause to Free ourselves for a better Zimbabwe.
John Burke and The Organizing Team: Phylis Melody Magejo, Dickson Chikwizo and Josephine Sipiwe Jenje-Mudimbu can be contacted for further details. We will continue with further updates. Stay blessed.

UPDATE: 25th March 2026
Melody has the flyer completed - a little time ago - and this has been doing the rounds on WhatsApp and Facebook.
We have booked 5 rooms in a Blackburn Hotel for those travelling from a distance - South Coast, Cardiff, Stockton-on-Tees [in separate vehicles we may add! - such a pity regarding the fuel prices recently - Luckymore Masanzu is doing the drive down from Stockton-on-Tees - with a car full of Ladies!] etc. Hopefully arriving around 5:00 pm on the Friday. Maybe a get together for those living locally. We appear to be 10 in number, at the Hotel at this time.
It looks like a very busy day with up to 50 walkers expected on 28th - it is only a modest distance, but the route up into the countryside [have a good look at tlast year's Flickr Album - and look at that SUN as well!] - For those avid map readers the Contours on the OS map will give an idea of both elevation and steepness at certain points. In a couple of places there are even steps. Good for those thigh muscles - bums and tums too!
Weather looks a little cloudy - which is OK to keep cool - so long as the rain holds off. The Forecast is looking good in that regard right now [Wednesday afternoon] - but this is the UK. And here on the South Coast we have just had a Hail Storm - the sky was deep purple as it passed over!
