Stop These Deportations

It is immoral:
These are just some of the factors of note in relation to those who are being rounded up for deportation right now:
- Some have been here a long time, as many as twenty years;
- Some will have had Refugee Leave, such was the compelling case they presented on arrival in UK, but the law, now, allow the Home Office to strip them of this, due to a conviction for particular offending behaviours [para 339 Immigration Rules].
- Deportation Orders are automatically made against people without British or Irish citizenship who have been given a prison sentence of more than a year
- Some of these people will have served their time in prison and on license like any other person with a conviction and have subsequently lived in the community for many years without re-offending – the bulk of these ‘crimes’ are old.
- They have been suffering the psychological damage and indignities of being on indefinite Immigration Bail with ankle tags, curfews, not allowed to work or study, and the ever-present threat of removal.
- Suicide amongst those in this situation is NOT uncommon.
Why the 'Attack' on Traditional Chiefs

On the 17th December 2021 two apparently unconnected "assaults" on the Traditional Chiefs have been effected by the ruling Zanu PF [Military Junta] with Vice President Constantino Chiwenga on Friday [17th] issuing a chilling threat to traditional leaders, warning that they would be stripped of their positions for criticising the Zanu PF government. President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his deputy corralled traditional chiefs in Harare, furious over rare public criticism of his regime.
This assault is perverse, to threaten hereditary Chiefs, and is not the domain of the cabal in Government. The traditional Chiefs have prior authority and a much longer history than the current clowns within Zanu PF. It is hardly in-keeping with the apparent Zanu PF 'desire' to be taken back into the British Commonwealth as stated previously, again at COP26, and with the delegation of Zimbabwean Bishops to the Archbishop of Canterbury at Lambeth Palace in the UK.
The obvious analogy is of the current UK Government attempting to remove the Queen of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth - the Government has no such power - in fact it is Royalty that has historically permitted the elected Government to run the Nation on behalf of the Monarchy!
Two articles appeared in ZimLive Article 17th December 2021 regarding Chief Ndiweni [an attack on Chief Ndiweni] - for pushing for democratic reform [Diaspora Vote]. The second and far more sinister ZimLive Article 18th December 2021 Threats to Chief Murinye published on the 18th, but referring to comments made by VP Chiwenga on Friday the 17th December 2021
Clearly Zanu PF feel so threatened by the voices of reason, that they are retaliating in the only way they know - threats of violence, and corrupt judiciary. Laws do not create morality, and bad laws should be resisted in a [claimed] "democracy" - but it would be naive to use the democracy 'umbrella' when evidently Zimbabwe is a dictatorship, and a Military Dictatorship at that!
With regards to the activities of Chief Ndiweni in the UK since October 2021, at ZHRO we can testify to the involvement of the Chief at COP26, the Petition to 10 Downing Street on the 21st October and the 11th November. In addition as the Chief was the co-author of the highly successful petition regarding the Diaspora Vote [and the ZEC failure to be independent]. Indeed Chief Ndiweni personally handed over that petition on the 2nd December at 14:00 along with myself and two other ZHRO members [see photo].
That particular petition has also led to involvement within the House of Lords - this august body of Hereditary Peers [akin to the Traditional Chiefs] and experienced retired Politician's usual role is to oversee Government [in terms of the House of Commons - called the "Lower House"] the House of Lords is also referred to as the "Upper House". The Upper House has in effect tremendous power - insofar as they can interrogate the sitting Government and hold them to account. Support here is extremely useful in respect of the diaspora vote.
Furthermore, the appearance of Chief Ndiweni at COP26 in Glasgow on the 1st and 2nd November 2021, contrasts very strongly with the failure of the 130 strong Zanu PF "Team" that took part, and made a laughing-stock of Zimbabwe globally with their "Booze-Cruise" antics. In addition the ineffective Mnangagwa, talking to empty halls and 'hovering' around World Leaders added to the embarrassment heaped upon Zimbabwe as a Nation by the clowns from Zanu PF UK and Europe - who triggered the farcical behaviours for a "party" on the 31st October.
Chief Ndiweni will be making a Public Statement today [18th December 2021] to refute the political theatre of his "Arrest Warrant" THE CHIEF CALLS FOR MNANGAGWA'S RESIGNATION [CLICK HERE].
The extent to which the Chiefs should be apolitical is being foolishly misinterpreted with the following disinformation.
Petition to 10 Downing Street - 2nd December 2021

This article is published at 14:15 today [Thursday 2nd December 2021] AFTER the Petition Hand-Over to Boris Johnson and Co at 10 Downing Street, Whitehall, London. SW1A 2AA. This will appear automatically to allow the public to see the body of our petition for themselves. We feel it is a matter for public debate, that the Regime who have ruled with an 'iron fist' for 41 years in Zimbabwe needs to be exposed due to corruption, mismanagment, vote rigging, the prevention of a diaspora vote and gross human rights abuses.
Thereafter we may walk to the FCDO Offices to shout about why their faith in Zanu PF and Emmerson D Mnangagwa, and the Zanu PF 'cabal' is entirely misplaced! We will do this another day as the temperatures in London today was only 30C plus a modest wind-chill. We were all perishingly cold!
Order of the Day
We had congregated outside the Zimbabwe Embassy located at 429 The Strand, London WC2R 0JS from 11:00am onwards - or whatever time people arrived from all over the UK - those from Newcastle or Leeds, have got our sympathies for the length of journey. To keep costs down it is invariably by coach! Often leaving at midnight or the 'early' hours. Moses Mbano has done this trip several times!
With us today were Chief Ndiweni and many other free thinking Zimbabweans, and other supporters of justice and freedom!
By 13:30 [1:30pm] we moved off from the Embassy, via Trafalgar Square, to first Whitehall, then we congregated opposite the entrance to 10 Downing Street. We sang, danced and played the drum whilst we awaited the 14:00 timeslot to enter the security corden around 10 Downing St. A tale of woe for Moses Mbano [arriving from Newcastle], was that [strangely] the Home Office had prevented him from being in the 'Petitioner' group - therefore he was left outside at the Gate.
Each of the [now 5] Zimbabwean petitioners, Chief F Nhlanhla Ndiweni, John Burke, Rashiwe Bayisayi and Sarah Bayisayi and Moses Mbano [left at the Gate as mentioned above] had been vetted by the Diplomatic Police Unit up to 10 days prior to entry. They had photo-ID with them to support that vetting process. On our Flickr Album Page 2nd Dec 2021 you can see their progress, and of the rest of the day as a photo-log plus a few videos too!
Once beyond the gate to Downing Street the petitioners were at liberty [and we encoraged them to do so see the photos on the Flickr Album above] - to take photographs of themselves as a group and individually. Several of the photos at the door to Number 10, were actually taken by one of the Policemen there!
After they returned to the main group situated opposite the entrance to Downing Street, the petitioners were greeted with cheers and more music! ...and dancing! see video on our Flickr page above!

Masimba Mavaza has Embarrassed Zanu PF UK

On Wednesday the 10th of November a rumour started to circulate;
Patson Muzuwa received a phone call from one Masimba Muvaza, who made the assertion that an article will appear in the Herald [Zimbabwe - Zanu PF supporting Newspaper], written by him, with the subject being myself.
I jokingly penned this piece that afternoon. In fact, I had a missed phone call from Mavaza myself! But knowing that he is a poor-man’s Zanu PF CIO and failed Zanu PF UK member, I let it slide.
“Rumour has it that The Herald in Zimbabwe, will publish an article by Masimba Mavaza, claiming that I paid all the protesters in Glasgow £300 each [if only that were true!!]. Oh and also, I am sleeping with several different Zimbabwean women!! And that's why so many protesters were there!! This is pure distraction, designed to take our "eye off the prize" [Zanu PF must Go!]. It's also so Mavaza can try and re-claim his position within Zanu PF, due to him acknowledging Chief Ndiweni by name and title in an interview last night on Zim Eye!!

The 50 plus group of Zimbabweans who joined us acted together, with ZHRO, ROHR Zimbabwe, MDCA and ZAPU members acting in unison on this particular project. The Petition is a hard-hitting exposé of the crimes of Emmerson D Mnangagwa and the problem of ZANU PF, the party he currently heads. The Petition also cites ZANU PF UK and Europe [an organisation based in the Midlands of the UK], but also Zanu PF USA and Zanu PF Russia.
We went on to speculate that the possibilities for Money Laundering out of Zimbabwe, to Russia and the UK needs to be investigated. We also cited the covert intimidation meted out on some of those who took part in the highly successful COP26 [Glasgow] protests, by this UK based group, and we referred to them as a “Terrorist Cell”. Given the criminal damage and threats received – we can only assume that they are either taking instructions from the party in Zimbabwe or acting ‘under their own initiative’ – either way these behaviours are completely unacceptable in the UK.
We did a write up of the protests in Glasgow regarding the inappropriate behaviours by Zanu PF UK and Zimbabwe, which has regrettably made Zimbabwe a laughingstock.

On to the Offensive Article by Masimba Mavaza
We now think that Mavaza “decided” to retaliate on behalf of Zanu PF UK, to our evidence-based assertions as described and shown above [the full items are available using the live web-Links].
However, things have now taken a turn for the worse, with a direct attack on the professionalism, honesty and integrity of myself as the founder of ZHRO, in an error-strewn article penned by the so called “Doctor” Masimba Mavaza! Published on Saturday 13th November 2021 around 7:30am.
I will cite some of the more preposterous passages, for readers to review, and consider if they already know me. Furthermore, as one of the key organisers for previous petitions, handed in to 10 Downing Street, The “Walk for Freedom” annual 105km challenge [ Walk for Freedom - 105km ] and the Glasgow COP26 protests against the Zanu PF ‘Booze Cruise’ Delegation, this assault upon my character and professionalism cannot go unanswered. As an example of the spread of this written ‘effluent’, colleagues at my partner’s work have asked her about this article. It seems that bad news travels fastest!

Let's just look at the impressive array of posts, titles and ministries in the Zimbabwe delegation. Then let's assess the current state of the economy and the environment.
The results are a massive mismatch. In fact, the list below must surely be the target for who to sack, fire, dismiss or even made to "Walk the Plank” for gross dereliction of duty. It's a list of SHAME, of a group of "hangers-on" who have a grand sounding titles but NO ABILITY. You're Fired is the only solution!
COP26 an Opportunity Squandered
""A government which is there to serve would never ever do this and sleep at night. No one with a conscience can! Criminals on the other hand would have no problem with it. Even Robert Mugabe did not go this low. Unfortunately, we seem to be unable to find any photographs of this delegation as a "team" - we do have a photo of some of these hangers-on disembarking from the chartered plane, but that's about it! So, was it a "Team Effort" or just for show - have some of these grandly entitled individuals got any ability, in their "chosen profession"? There are economists in various Ministries, there are Climate Scientists too - but what are they actually doing in Zimbabwe? There is scant evidence of any of these jokers achieving any impact on the dire state of Zimbabwe. ON all measures Zimbabwe is at the bottom of the charts - except inflation - where they have been at the top for some number of years. When Professor Steve Hanke's says that Mnangagwa is "Ignorant of Economics" it would appear that his Ministry of Finance is also in that description.

Zimbabwe and COP26

The mainstream media can now assess Zimbabwe's COP26 performance in a couple of words - Booze Cruise!
This tragedy for the population of Zimbabwe is a result of 41 years of oppression, mismanagement, corruption, looting and extreme human rights abuse [ abductions, torture and deaths]. The [illegal] Zanu PF regime in Zimbabwe, can trick and fool their own populations due to a captured State TV, Newspapers and other media - but this counted for nothing when on Sunday 31st October, on the pretext of a COP26 invitation, two thoughtless bozo's, proudly proclaimed that the "party has started".
Missing the point completely but used to lying in his public position as a spokesman [propaganda] in Zimbabwe, Nick Mangwana celebrated the booze buying duo as a positive event [at a Climate Conference no less?]. Not fully appreciating that social media was already full of [illegal] President E D Mnangagwa, with his 100 hangers-on in his private jet was hitting the Carbon Dioxide tonnage to arrive at this Climate Event. In this case the sh*t really did hit the fan! With International Coverage of this utter hypocrisy!
The Times - United Kingdom, Daily Mail Article, Metro Article, Scottish Sun, Celex s205, eminetra and Inews Article regarding Booze all covering this absurd display of childish excess [so far!]. UPDATE: It gets worse, the UK TV BBC Comedy Programme, "Have I Got News For You" on Thursday night on the 4th Novembebr 2021 Mocked the Zimbabwean Delegation with this video clip - Total International Mockery - a tragedy for the real Zimbabwe and their diaspora [click the text here to see it on our Twitter Account]. At least the iNEWS team gave a mention to the hundred of Zimbabwean [and other] Protesters outside who were extremely vocal [ with singing protest songs to music and drums] about the long list of failings of this [illegal] Zimbabwean Zanu PF Government [Junta or Cabal or Mafia are better descriptors]. To that list they now have Climate Ignorance and Self Aggrandisement !
On the Tuesday the 2nd November the protesters listened with incredulity to Mnangagwa's [scripted] speech. The News Channel "Zim Eye" captured to mood with a Live Video as Mnangagwa trotted out his platitudes and request for more money. He also shoe-horned into his talk on the Environment, with a complaint about the [Targeted] Sanctions [he claimed were on Zimbabwe, but in practice they are on the criminal individuals and corporations looting Zimbabwe]. The protest group were completely unimpressed.
The tragedy however, is that Zimbabwe needs so much support and assistance now. All entirely due to 41 years of corruption, mismanagement, human rights abuse and environmental ineptitude - allowing indiscriminate mining practices.
Zimbabwe is a disaster - all down to the Zanu PF regime. Even their pleas for Climate Change assistance - are hollow due to their Environmental ignorance. Funds sent by well-wishing agencies and other Governments have never been spent on alleviating damage caused, for instance, by Hurricane Ida. The degradation and deforestation allowed by Chinese Mining Organisations in Zimbabwe, clearly demonstrate an 'administration' devoid of any concept of soil erosion and mining pollution. These are not "Climate Emergencies, but a callous disregard for the duty of "Stewardship", the protection of "Mother Earth", Gaia and all other concepts to do with balance and harmony with Nature.
In complete contrast, and without a script, but from the heart Chief Ndiweni was being interviewed many times with the protest group [Video on Twitter courtesy of Valarie Karimakwenda], regarding the solutions to the clearly man-made [Zanu PF junta] crises in Zimbabwe. The sewage in the streets, the lack of available drinking water, the rationed electricity supply, the state capture of the Institutions and such like. In fact the Zimbabwean Government appear to have failed every single one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals [UNSDG's] - Every one! As part of the protest consortia, we have produced a petition to Boris Johnson, which will be re-presented on Thursday November the 11th to 10 Downing Street, as evidence of the multitude of failings of this Zanu PF regime in its 41 year tenure CLICK HERE TO READ. This petition will be annexed with a critical write up of the performance of the Zimbabwe Zanu PF regime at COP26 - not a very good performance at all.
As a group we had sought to plea with Alok Sharma [President of COP26] and Vicky Ford; MP [and Minister for Africa], to permit Chief Ndiwendi to be allowed to speak at the COP26 meeting - not with the current President - as his knowledge and passion for the Zimbabwean Environment is without parallel. However we received no response to our e-mails.

""PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa is taking a bloated entourage of over 100 people to the 26th edition of the United Nations Climate Change conference in Glasgow, Scotland, including family members, friends and Zanu-PF youths who will enjoy a two-week long stay in the UK on taxpayer’s funds.""
This was revealed by Centre for Natural Resource Governance (CNRG) director Farai Maguwu.
The trip will be Mnangagwa’s first to the UK and the only one by a Zimbabwean state leader in 25 years as a result of a diplomatic tiff that arose during the chaotic land reform programme early 2000s.
“Our ‘sanctions-afflicted’ Zimbabwe is sending a delegation of more than 100 people to COP26 in Glasgow, some are already there whilst others are packing their bags. Of the 100 plus delegates, more than 60 have nothing to do with Climate Change,” Maguwu revealed in a series of Twitter posts.
“Among the non-technical members who constitute majority of the delegates are relatives and friends of powerful officials responsible for selecting those attending the jamboree. Some technical staff could not travel to Scotland because spaces had been taken by non-technical climate tourists,” he said.
“Zimbabwe’s delegation is said to be more than double that of South Africa whose population is more than four times bigger than ours whilst their economy is thousand times better and healthier than ours. Our non-technical delegates on the other hand have found yet another reason to spend what we do not have. Cyclone Idai victims still crying for help to build back better their lives ruined by the climate induced disaster,” he added.
“Amazing what we can do in spite of sanctions and what we claim we cannot do when it comes to developing our country and investing in our people.”
Presidential Spokesperson George Charamba’s mobile number was not being picked while Information ministry permanent secretary Nick Mangwana did not respond to questions sent via WhatsApp.
Without revealing who will make it, Lands and Agriculture Ministry permanent secretary John Bhasera told Journalists Tuesday, Zimbabwe will be sending a “strong delegation” to the summit.
Mnangagwa is elated to be headed for UK himself, having earlier declared: “I am eagerly looking forward to my first visit to the United Kingdom. COP26 meeting of nations comes at an extraordinary time in world history,” Mnangagwa said Tuesday.""
Police Brutality is common; to subjugate the majority of the population. A true "Police State" [See image above]. This is precisely the reason that ZHRO, ROHR Zimbabwe, MDCA and ZAPU delivered a petition to the gates of 10 Downing Street on the 21st October 2021. We will be presenting a second petition at 14:00 on the 11th November, again to 10 Downing Street.
Nhanda Radio [see Web link in the opening sentence above] adds a little more to this story of "excess":
“Countries like the US and China also send big delegations to COP conferences but these are composed largely of technical staff. Each person in their delegations has a specific task to carry out.
“Our non-technical delegates on the other hand have found yet another reason to spend what we don’t have. Cyclone Idai victims are still crying for help to build back better their lives ruined by the climate induced disaster.”
In an interview with Nehanda Radio, opposition MDC Alliance secretary for International Relations Gladys Hlatshwayo said President Emmerson Mnangagwa was using the COP26 as a launchpad to siphon the country’s resources out of the country.
“Mr Mnangagwa and Zanu PF continue to plunder the resources of our country at the expense of suffering citizens. When it comes to citizens’ demands for socio- economic rights including access to health. education etc, they are quick to talk about sanctions.

In addition, Chief F Nhla Nhla Yemangwe Ndiweni from the Ntabazinduna Region. Representing the Ndebele nation with regard to Customs Traditions Practises and norms from the Traditional Houses. ie the whole Southern Half of Zimbabwe was also a signatory to this document.

We all strolled from the Strand, to Trafalgar Square, to Whitehall and then camped outside 10 Downing Street. The atmosphere was great We even "compared notes" with fellow protesters IPOB UKwho were there to make some noise outside 10 Downing Street and then onto the Foreign and Commonwealth Office [round the Corner]. Thanks to Mr and Mrs Mike and Mercy Statter for the background.
We took photos and debated the issues in Zimbabwe. We had the TV teams from Al Jezera with us who interviewed several of the Zimbabwean protestors, including Chief Ndiweni and Beverley Mutandiro.
Those 6 "Petitioners" were led at 14:00 [2:00pm] over to the Gates of number 10 bang on time. Photos inside the gates, will be seen shortly. The Petitioners were Sipilien Birani, Malvern Dengu, Shamiso Moyo, Tryness Ncube, Model Pamire and Zakhele Maphosa.

Mnangagwa ‘Totally Ignorant’

United States (US) economist, Steve Hanke, says President Emmerson Mnangagwa is not only corrupt but "totally ignorant" when it comes to economic issues.
In a tweet, Hanke said the Zimbabwe dollar has depreciated by 93% against the United States dollar since the local currency was reintroduced in 2019. He said:

This comes as the forex rate has plummeted on the black market, with the currency changing hands for up to Z$200 per US dollar, while the official rate is pegged at Z$90.
Meanwhile, the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI) – the largest representative body for local business, has warned that the country’s currency is in danger of collapsing as businesses resort to United States dollar transactions.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Hanke said threats by the Zimbabwean government to suspend businesses using black market rates will end in tears. He wrote:
"Zimbabwe's currency is in a "death spiral". Now, the corrupt government is threatening to suspend all businesses using black-market exchange rates to price goods. I’ve seen this movie before. It has a tragic ending."
Zimbabwean authorities have in recent weeks arrested scores of foreign traders accused of manipulating the volatile Zimbabwean dollar by trading on the black market.
But in a letter to its members, CZI said it had cautioned the government against clamping down on firms and traders. It said: The greatest risk facing the economy right now is an inappropriate policy response to the rising parallel market premium. Clamping down on informal exchange trading in the absence of a viable formal market will have catastrophic consequences for the economy.

Kudakwashe Tagwirei, who is close to Zimbabwe’s president and his inner circle, leveraged his privileged access to fuel and mining markets to strike a lucrative partnership with commodities giant Trafigura. Sanctioned by the U.S. and U.K. for corruption, Tagwirei continued to do business by relocating his network to Mauritius.
Key Findings
- Tagwirei has earned at least $100 million in fees from a partnership with Swiss-based Trafigura. Together, they have profited extensively by dominating Zimbabwe’s fuel market since 2013.
- Trafigura quietly extended $1 billion in loans to the Zimbabwean government, at exorbitant interest rates.
- As controversy grew, Tagwirei moved his business network offshore to Mauritius, where he secured a new near-monopoly fuel deal with the government. He is still active in mining and fuel deals in Zimbabwe.
- Government officials appear on key company records and Tagwirei’s own correspondence, indicating that there might be more powerful people behind the network
The payments made to Tagwirei raise a red flag, according to Global Witness’s Natasha White.
“Red flags include the personal involvement of politically exposed individuals in such deals. It would be extremely concerning if payments have been made into a personal account of Tagwirei by Trafigura, whether or not he was sanctioned at the time,” she said.

Zanu PF See Money in the Climate Targets

Sept 25 2021(Reuters) - Zimbabwe has adopted a more ambitious target for emissions reduction ahead of a United Nations climate conference in November, the country's new climate change plan showed. https://www.reuters.com/world/africa/zimbabwe-bolsters-emissions-targets-ahead-climate-summit-2021-09-25/ The southern African country is now committed to a 40% drop in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 across all sectors of the economy, compared to a "business as usual" scenario in which emission reduction policies are not implemented. Zimbabwe had previously committed to a 33% emissions reduction in its first Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) in 2017. NDCs are non-binding plans for climate action submitted by countries since the Paris Agreement of 2016. The new target is for Zimbabwe's total greenhouse gas emissions to be curbed to 44.7 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (Mt CO2e) by 2030. If no action is taken emissions are projected to hit 75.4 Mt CO2e by then. Emissions in 2017 were 35.84 Mt CO2e, according to the NDC's most recent national-level estimate. The biggest source of Zimbabwe's greenhouse gas emissions is the agriculture and forestry sector, with the energy sector ranking second. Thermal power generation is the main driver of energy sector emissions. Zimbabwe's mitigation measures include creating 500,000 more hectares of forest land by 2025, adding 2,098 megawatts of capacity through microgrids by 2028, and expanding solar power capacity. Zimbabwe has separately committed to increasing electricity and coal supply to the iron and steel sectors, though, which will add to emissions. The NDC did not mention plans to curb coal mining or coal-fired power.
In a plea to the international community, Zimbabwe said compliance with its new targets is "fully conditional on affordable international financial support, investment, technology development and transfer and capacity development". The 26th United Nations Climate Change (COP26) conference is scheduled to take place in Glasgow, Scotland, from October 31 to November 12.

In ZANU PF when a chairperson of the party in any portfolio dies the next senior position holder becomes the acting chairperson. ZANU PF UK has been rocked by bickering of positions and looks divided with cde Marshal Gore who is the deputy secretary of administration claiming to be the legitimate Chairman. Cde Gore even though not supported by the ZANU PF constitution is being supported by few heavy weights he claims are at the Head Office and few government officials. 18th September 2021 Pickering

For those ZHRO members in the North, we organised a circuit based from Pickering, North Yorkshire. [YO18 7AS post code for the Eastgate Car Park as the meeting point.]. It is however, a long way from ZHRO's base in Worthing [300 miles away!].
So an over-night stay in Leeds was needed, and an early start to pick up Leeds Branch members, Hillary, Sipilien and Mevis. [7:20am near Leeds Market] - then onto the A64 to York, and Pickering. The Stat-Nav had decided to 'avoid motorways' etc and so took us past Castle Howard, North Yorkshire - very impressive [see more detail via the link]. So we arrived in Pickering at 9:15am. Moses and Daisy were driving down from Newcastle to take part - but got held up in Traffic. So the 4 of us from Leeds got started at 10:00am [see the Flickr Album linked here]. We re-directed Daisy, Moses and their two children to our meeting point at Lockton, some 10 minutes north of Pickering [on the A169] and we intended to meet them there, and then all continue together.
Due to this being a "d
esk-designed" Walk [for Freedom], we encountered a few route issues around noon - [ending up the wrong side of the river etc] - so Myself. Mevis and Sipilien ended up climbing a particularly steep bank - sometimes on all fours! The implication was that we needed to re-route Moses, and Daisy [again] to "Kingthorpe Farm, which was closers- as a meeting point. We all met there, Including Hillary in his electric car around 1:00pm. Photos were taken - and 'Brian' the Farmer came out to see what we were all about - as we were all wearing the same "Walk for Freedom" T shirts. So we do, in fact, manage quite a few 'engagements' with the public on these Walks - so we are able to 'educate' many people about the problems in Zimbabwe, combined with the antagonistic 'stance' of the Home Office.
ZHRO Says NO to 'Green Bombers'

The Zimbabwe Human Rights Organisation (ZHRO) is rallying its members to a peaceful planned Wednesday Vigil protest. It is to be held outside the Zimbabwe Embassy in London on the 15th of September 2021, starting at 11am, to Protest the planned return of the murderous Green Bombers in Zimbabwe.
The lame excuse of it’s return is that it will equip the youths with a sense of patriotism and survival skills - whereas they are state-sponsored youth gangs used to abuse people’s rights during elections.

He slipped back into the country recently and was domiciled in Karoi. According to ZNA rules, a person can leave the army after three years in what is known as the probation period, they can also do so after 10 years, they can retire after 20 years or they can leave when they turn 55, unless if there is an extension agreement. Anyone who leaves outside these parameters and without paperwork is considered a deserter and leaving unprocedurally is not taken for granted as the former soldier may be compromised. However, before establishing the facts, a trigger happy Coltart went on to baselessly claim that Chanengeta had been abducted when that was not the case something that Mr Mangwana said comes as little surprise.""

Zambia’s new president and longtime opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema, has been sworn into power today [Tuesday 24th August 2021], this fact [against the predictions and problems with elections in that part of Africa] has raisied hopes in Zambia about to enter an actual democratic change! Shades of the "Zimbabwe Effect" from the State 'next door'. The fact that the incoming president has invited Chamisa and Biti from the opposition MDCAlliance [Zimbabwe], and possibly not invited the head of the 41 years old Zanu PF Government, Ed Mnangagwa - with Mask and scarf, from the basket case that is now Zimbabwe - nobody would want to follow their example.
So this invitation is significant. Also invited were South African Opposition Party members.
My commentary: An Observation Only:
Even from a Human Rights perspective - we can talk about “politics” - Politics has been demonstrably known to be a particularly ‘dirty business’. Outrageous promises are broken, corruption is endemic and violence (and often Murder) are the tools used to maintain “power” - at any cost!
The wasted opportunities are boundless in the desire to “rule” rather than SERVE! One day a change will come, that might well be today! We will see, but the recognition given to Zambia’s “poor relation” - to invite MDCA partners Chamisa and Biti is a vital step forward.
Next item on this agenda is to ‘shame’ SADC and the AU into adding some democracy to their obvious “dictator’s club” image. Well done Zambia’s electorate - you may well have ushered in change for the better in this region.
